Easter Music

 

EASTER MUSIC is a challenging and mysterious work for cello and piano. Cast in a single movement, the music begins with aggressive dissonance and jagged rhythms and winds its way to ethereal consonance and soul-refreshing light across its 12-minute duration. The piece culminates in a ceremonial atmosphere, with chant-like, repeated-note melodic lines in the piano played with the pedal down, and a finger cymbal part played by the cellist.
